WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team was shut out, 6-0, by Penn College here Saturday afternoon at UPMC Field in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.
Penn College (2-3-1, 1-1 NEAC) scored early and often and were paced by Dominique Brown (four goals, one assist), who netted a hat trick in the first half. Brown scored the first two goals at the 7:43 and 9:10 marks, respectively. She later scored a goal in the 29th minute as the Wildcats led 5-0 at the half.
In the second half, it was more of the same as Brown scored her fourth goal of the game and sixth of the season off an assist from Ashley Donat (two assists).
Senior goalie Silvya Levesque (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) recorded 12 saves in net as she faced 18 shots from the Wildcats.
Penn College goalie Taylor Gonzales tallied three saves as GU (2-4, 0-2 NEAC) made three shots on goal.
- Penn College took 43 shots while GU had 12
- Sophomore Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) led the Bison with six shots (one on goal)
- The Wildcats held a 17-1 edge in corner kicks
GU returns home to host Lancaster Bible College (4-3, 1-1 NEAC) in a conference game on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m.
