MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Sophomore midfielder Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) had a career game here Saturday as she netted four goals to lead Gallaudet University to its first women's soccer win this season as the Bison defeated the College of Saint Elizabeth, 6-1.
Neild scored twice in the first half, both unassisted marks, and twice in the second half. Her second goal of the game came off a free kick from 25 yards out that got past Eagles goalie Haley Baron (10 saves).
Gallaudet (1-2) first got on the scoreboard when freshman Henrianne Jansen (Apeldoorn, Netherlands) scored in the 22nd minute off a turnover. Neild then tallied goals in the 30th and 33rd minutes, respectively.
The Bison took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Saint Elizabeth (0-2) got on the scoreboard quickly when Taylor Veve assisted Carissa Kirkland on a goal just two minutes in.
GU responded with three unanswered goals in the 63rd, 69th and 85th minutes. Neild's second-half goals sandwiched Jansen's second goal in the 69th minute. Jansen assisted Neild in the 63rd minute and sophomore Kari Bingham (Frankville, N.J.) assisted on Jansen's second mark.
Senior goalie Silvya Levesque (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) made three saves in the win. Levesque sets a program record with 18 career wins. She was previously tied with Kara Gulvas (2009-10, 12-13) for career wins.
