WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men’s and women’s swimming and diving team will host its 2013-14 season kickoff meeting on Monday, Aug. 26, at 5 p.n. in the Field House room G41 (bottom level). Those students interested in joining the team must attend. If you have a schedule conflict please contact Head Coach Larry Curran at [email protected].
The team welcomes student-athletes, new and experienced with the attitude and motivation that lead to success. Your swimming and/or diving skills will be assessed as you begin to participate in workouts to place you in a training group that matches your skills and conditioning. If you have been only a recreational swimmer or diver in the past, you will get as much attention from the team and coaching staff as any other athlete to provide skills and conditioning to allow you to achieve your new goals. Your contribution, improvement and achievement will be significant in determining how successful the team will be.
“While we have swimmers with a great deal of competitive swimming experience that are critical to our success, new or limited experience student-athletes have scored a lot of our points,” said Curran.
Gallaudet’s first swim meet is Oct. 19 on the road against Frostburg State University at 1 p.m.
