GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its conference student-athlete of the week awards for the week of Jan. 22 and Gallaudet University junior Julia Miller-Notestone (Medford, Ore.) was selected as the NEAC Women's Swimmer of the Week.
Miller-Notestone won two individual events in a win over Penn St.-Altoona, including the 200-yard backstroke where she set a new personal best with a time of 2:25.80. She also was part of the 200-yard medley relay team that placed first with a time of 2:33.15. Miller-Notestone also picked up a first-place finish in the 500-yard backstroke against Stevenson and had three second-place finishes on the weekend.
It was a clean sweep for the Gallaudet swimming program as sophomore Ben Sealts (Ottawa, Ohio) was selected as the NEAC Men's Swimmer of the Week.
This is Gallaudet women's swimming and diving program's second NEAC Swimmer of the Week honor this season and Miller-Notestone's third of her career.
Gallaudet's women's team will host Sweet Briar College next Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. in a dual meet.
