  • GU Student-Athletes recognized at annual Awards Ceremony

    The 2009-10 Gallaudet University athletics year officially came to a close on Monday, May 3, in Andrew J. Foster Auditorium as the GU athletics department held its annual awards ceremony. Bison student-athletes from all 14 varsity teams were recognized before a near capacity crowd.

    Freshman thrower Jessica Israel (Frederick, Md.) scored in two events to lead the Gallaudet University women’s track and field team at the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference championships on Saturday at Salisbury University on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

    The Gallaudet University Athletics Department announced the two recipients of the Bison of the Month recently for the month of March. The honorees are from men's track and field freshman Darius Flowers and from women's track and field freshman Kayla Hardaway.

    The Gallaudet University women’s track and field team had its final tune-up before the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference championships on Saturday as the Bison participated in the Lynchburg College Classic. There was no team scores kept at the meet.

    Freshman Kayla Hardaway (Austin, Texas) earned two second-place finishes at the Salisbury University Spring Classic on Saturday to lead the Gallaudet University women's track and field team to a fifth place finish. The Bison collected 21 team points and finished in the middle of the 10-team field.
