GU wraps up indoor competition at Last Chance meet

FAIRFAX, Va. - The Gallaudet University women's indoor track and field team wrapped up indoor competition here Sunday at the Mason Last Chance meet hosted by George Mason University.

The hosts, George Mason University, placed first overall as they accumulated a total of 69 points over 17 events. James Madison University took second place (43 points) while American University took third place (33 points).

Gallaudet senior sprinter Shellane McKitty (Yonkers, N.Y.) was the lone Bison to compete in the meet.

McKitty's best finish came in the 400-meter dash when she crossed the finish line in 1:05.29 for a 12th place finish out of 13 runners. 

McKitty also participated in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 28.77 seconds and 14th place.

The Bison will begin their outdoor season on Saturday, March 4, when they participate in the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet hosted by Salisbury University.
