ABINGTON, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team finished strong in the second day of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover weekend hosted by Penn St.-Abington as they won two times with sweeps over College of St. Elizabeth and Penn College.
The Bison (14-10, 8-0 NEAC) won three straight against St. Elizabeth, 25-11, 25-10, 25-12. Senior Julia Wolff (Belleville, Ontario) led the team with 10 kills as senior Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) had four kills. Freshman Darriyan Thomas (Vallejo, Calif.) had seven digs and two service aces. Freshman Emma Crawford (Austin, Texas) made her first collegiate start as setter and tallied 27 assists.
The Bison also defeated Penn College in straight sets, 25-9, 25-19, 27-25. Wolff led again in kills (12) and Frowick was close behind with 11. Thomas had 17 of the team's 45 digs. Junior setter TraciAnn Hoglind (Fishers, Ind.) had 34 assists and four service aces to help the team in the win.
Gallaudet will host Wooster College at home on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.
