GU begins its season on Friday, Sept 2, on the road at the annual Battlefield Classic in Gettysburg, Pa. The Bison have kicked off their schedule at the Battlefield Classic for the past seven seasons. GU swept all four games in the tournament last year.
Their non-conference slate continues with two more away games against former conference foes Marymount (Va.) University on Wednesday, Sept. 7, and St. Mary’s (Md.) College on Thursday, Sept. 15. The Bison’s conference opener will start on the road with a NEAC crossover tournament on Sept. 16 and 17 with games against last season's conference runner-up, SUNY Poly, as well as SUNY Cobleskill, Morrisville State College and NEAC newcomer Wilson College.
The schedule features 10 home matches this season beginning with the 10th Annual Worthington Classic, an eight-team tournament on Sept. 23 and 24. The Bison finished 2-2 as a strong Virginia Wesleyan College team won the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record. This year’s Worthington Classic is not a tournament as the Bison will face regional powers DeSales University and Salisbury University along with Rutgers University-Newark and Misericordia University. The other teams in the tournament include Marymount, Messiah College and Wesley College.
Gallaudet closes out the busy month of September with an away match at regionally-ranked Stevenson University on Thursday, Sept. 29.
The month of October begins with another NEAC crossover tournament on Oct. 1 and 2 against Penn State-Abington, St. Elizabeth and Bryn Athyn. Gallaudet returns home for the annual AVCA Dig Pink night on Wednesday, Oct. 5 against Goucher College.
The Bison will travel for a road doubleheader at Lebanon Valley College to play against Lebanon Valley and University of Scranton on Oct. 7. Gallaudet will also travel to south to play against regional power University of Mary Washington on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
GU returns home to host a conference crossover tournament against Wells College, Cazenovia College and Keuka College. They will head out on the road for a matchup against national power, Christopher Newport University on Tuesday, Oct. 18, followed by one more NEAC crossover tournament on Oct. 21 and 22 against Penn State-Berks, Penn College and Lancaster Bible College.
Gallaudet will wrap up its regular-season schedule with two more home games, the first coming on Tuesday, Oct. 25, against Shenandoah University followed by Senior Day prior to the regular-season finale on Friday, Oct. 28, against Eastern Mennonite University during homecoming weekend.
The NEAC tournament quarterfinals will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and will continue with the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 5, followed by the championship on Sunday, Nov. 6. Gallaudet has hosted the NEAC championship tournament three times (2012, '13, '14) since joining the conference in 2010. The NCAA tournament will start the following week.
