WASHINGTON - Members of Gallaudet University women's volleyball team took time out their busy fall schedules to give back to the community last week.
The team hosted a clinic for the Kendall Middle School volleyball team at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES) on Sept. 25. For two hours the GU women's volleyball team and the coaching staff worked on the fundamentals of the game with the young players. The clinic ended with a hitting show in which the Bison demonstrated their high level hitting abilities, dazzling and inspiring the young players.
The team combined for 28 hours of community service.
"We would like to thank Gallaudet's volleyball team for putting on a very successful volleyball clinic with Kendall's middle school volleyball team," said Jesse Saunders, Gallaudet Associate Director of Youth Programs. "The Gallaudet student-athletes were excellent role models and our kids were able to work on important skills such as receiving, passing, setting and hitting."
