GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Sept. 4 and Gallaudet University's Darriyan Thomas (Vallejo, Calif.) earned Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance last weekend at the Battlefield Classic.

The senior outside hitter started the season with an outstanding effort where she recorded 23 kills, 13 digs and five service aces in a 3-1 win over St. Mary's (Md.) College. The reigning NEAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Year had 58 kills, 49 digs, 11 service aces and four blocks in four matches.

Penn St.-Berks sophomore Madison Wojciechowski was selected NEAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week as she tallied 81 digs in four matches for the Nittany Lions.

This is Gallaudet's first NEAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors this season. This is the sixth NEAC weekly honor for Thomas in her career.

Gallaudet will travel to Northampton, Mass., on Friday, Sept. 8, to play four matches in the Smith College Invitational.
