Gallaudet bounces back with straight set win over St. Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Gallaudet University ended its three-match losing streak here Friday night with a straight set win over College of Saint Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest. GU won 25-18, 25-14, 25-16 in its fourth straight set win this season.

Gallaudet (6-8, 2-1 NEAC) was led by senior outside hitter Darriyan Thomas (Vallejo, Calif.) who had 10 kills and 10 digs to go with three service aces. This is Thomas' eighth double-double of the season. Sophomore outside hitter Adele Daniels (Austin, Texas) added nine kills and six digs. Senior setter Jasmine Jeter (Noblesville, Ind.) passed out 12 assists while junior libero Raelyn Fuechtmann (South St. Paul, Minn.) made nine digs and three service aces.

Saint Elizabeth (2-8, 1-2 NEAC) had two players with six kills each while Maura Farley passed out 15 assists, made nine digs and two block assists.

Gallaudet remains on the road and will travel to Bryn Athyn College (1-9, 0-3 NEAC) tomorrow (Saturday, Sept. 23) for an 11 a.m. conference match.
