Gallaudet's Karita Lewis named NEAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Sept. 30 and Gallaudet University junior Karita Lewis (Frederick, Md.) was named Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.

Lewis was named to the Worthington Classic all-tournament team after she compiled 45 kills, 41 digs, six aces and four blocks in four matches where Gallaudet went 1-3. For the entire week, she collected 54 kills (.177), 59 digs, 11 aces and five blocks. She had two double-doubles during the Worthington Classic hosted by the Bison. The middle hitter had 16 kills and 12 digs against SUNY Cortland and 13 kills and 10 digs versus Catholic. In GU's NEAC win against Penn St.-Abington, the junior had eight kills, nine digs and three aces in a 3-0 Gallaudet win.

Morrisville State College senior Sam Wolf was named Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

This is Gallaudet's first NEAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honor this season. This is the third NEAC weekly honor for Lewis in her career.
