LANCASTER, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's cross country team got a sneak peek of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship course here Saturday as it ran in the Charger Invitational hosted by Lancaster Bible College.
Gallaudet finished ninth out of 13 teams with 210 points as seven different NEAC programs ran in the competition. McDaniel College won the meet with 69 points as it had three runners in the top 12 spots. Keuka College was second overall with 91 points, Penn College was third (102), SUNY Poly was fourth (109) and Morrisville St. was fifth (124). The host Chargers just missed the top five with a sixth-place finish (188) and the last NEAC program in the field included Penn St.-Berks in 11th (221).
Penn St.-Berks' Mikaela won the 6K race in 25 minutes, 58.4 seconds as the invite featured a field of 97 runners.
GU freshman Sierra Pratt (Katy, Texas) finished eighth overall for the Bison as she finished in 27:46.5. Sophomore Taylor Nguyen (Ballwin, Mo.) was the next GU runner to finish as she placed 33rd (31:51.9) followed by junior Fatuma Ali (Tucson, Ariz.) and freshman Maria Guzman Mejia (Bronx, N.Y.) in 63rd (35:34.9) and 64th place (35:35.6), respectively. GU's fifth and final runner to score team points was freshman Hannah Wetzel (Fremont, Calif.) in 81st place (38:18.1).

Gallaudet will next travel south to Winchester, Va., to run in the Hornet Harrier next Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Kernstown Battlefield.
